On 23 May 2018, I attended my first event as Lindmark Legal. An event hosted by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, the Swedish Embassy in the Netherlands and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy: the “Startup-summit Sweden-The Netherlands”. A very interesting event at Epicenter Amsterdam, featuring a number of interesting Swedish and Dutch startups, two special guests: HRH Prince Daniel of Sweden and HRH Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands, both deeply committed to startups, and the Dutch and Swedish ministers of state responsible for this topic.
Interesting fact brought up by the Swedish prince: over 80% of Dutch students think that “entrepreneur” would be a good career choice, whereas only little over 50% of Swedish students do. This would be related to risk-assessment, courage and security in the own abilities (Swedes more modest and Dutch more entrepreneurial, historically?). Being a Swedish native who lived in the Netherlands for many years and just started my own law-firm, I can relate to both.
